The Chinese New Year of course, it starts on February 3rd. This will be the year of the rabbit (so remember to stop writing Tiger on your checks and start writing Rabbit). Last night in our ATC group we made happy new year pop-up cards!
Happy Bunny Year!
I made calenders for my sister, my mother and myself like I do every year. They are in use now, so I can show you what I did.
Instead of rubber stamping everything, the tombstone shapes and the numbers are screen printed with screens Lynn made me. (You can order screens on her etsy shop!)
There is still quite a bit of stamping, the months, the year, the full moons and the bats and skulls are stamped with my carved stamps.
Holidays and events are written in silver pen and outlined. They came out pretty Gothic looking, I’m pretty happy with them.
On Wednesday we closed on the new house, it is officially ours. The work it needs is officially ours, too. We also have several apartment turnovers coming up. Do you know anyone who needs an apartment?
There is plenty of work, but first, I’m going to read the Sunday funnies.
This month’s artist trading card theme is numbers, and I chose 42. I never was good at my times tables, but I do know this is wrong. Even the mice, Frankie and Benjy, know it’s wrong. The ATC is in homage to The Hitchhicker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Myrtle the turtle and Smitty the former cat toy helped me take the decorations off the Christmas Tree days ago, and they haven’t stopped playing with the ornaments since.
Enough partying for a little while. It’s time to say goodbye to Christmas. One last look at some of the beautiful pipe cleaner ornaments my friend have made for me.
Left over Asti Spumante and carrot sticks with California dip that I forgot to put out last night. Nearly 60 people came over and celebrated with us, we had a wonderful New Year’s Eve!
