A Winter Offering

I did a reduction print for a swap recently.   These are my prints, all over the floor drying.

First, I carved a few flames and the moon, then I printed orange on yellow paper.

Then, I carved a few more flames in the same block, and printed red over the orange.

Then I carved the rest of the flames and the text on the same block, and printed black over the red.   I really enjoy the “not knowing” of reduction printing, and the way shadows appear when things aren’t lined up perfectly.   This image was my way of burning all the negative thoughts I want to leave behind, clearing way for spring, and making space for more positive thoughts.
