We stopped by Gallery 555 this past weekend and were delighted to get a tour of the place from Carl and Monte, the owners. The gallery recently moved to the former third precinct of the Detroit Police, a very cool and strange place to be.
The entrance.
Art and scaffolding.
I love all the old paint on the walls.
You can rent jail cells to make or display your art.
Someone had added art to this cell.
A room for music.
I liked the striped wall, too. There is a lot of history in this building.
The gym upstairs had some interesting old wall paintings.
